Paddle On introduces the components of stand up paddling. It is run over eight sessions and is designed to help people who have been affected by cancer regain optimal physical emotional and social well-being by participating in a safe and fun group exercise program designed specifically for cancer rehabilitation using stand up paddling.

The aim is to help people affected by cancer regain strength movement and confidence which may have been affected by
cancer surgery radiation chemotherapy and hormone therapy.

The program is run by Nicole Staight who has been qualified in this program since 2019. It is run in association with a qualified paddleboard instructor and includes exercises to develop strength and flexibility that is needed for paddle boarding. It is divided into 8 modules to improve balance, core strength, posture, upper body strength,
flexibility and fitness.

Each module is specifically designed to break down the components of SUP and help improve balance shoulder strength
core strength joint stability and flexibility. This program is offered two men and woman after they have finished their cancer treatment.

SUP boarding has the potential to provide physical and psychological benefit simultaneously. Studies suggest simply being
around water can increase levels of “feel good” brain chemicals like dopamine and decrease levels of cortisol which is a stress hormone.

"water makes you happier healthier more connected to other people and better at what you do"
